Birth in the Time of COVID-19

Continuity of care, reassurance from their healthcare team, and the opportunity to ask questions and receive quality information is so important to an expectant mother having a baby. COVID-19 and the necessary reduction in face to face care, has stripped much of this from expectant mothers and research is showing a significant increase in anxiety is the result. We are passionate about first time mothers and birth partners having access to good quality, safe, health professional driven education about their pregnancy, birth and post-partum experience.

We are running 1:1 (partners welcome) pregnancy & active birth classes in our gym at Roxburgh Park clinic. We also run Zoom classes for up to 4 couples. These classes are condensed sessions of essential information and run for 2 hours.

These are run by Niki, our pelvic health physiotherapist, and will cover:

· Pregnancy care including general exercise guidance

· Prevention and management of pelvic floor issues and abdominal separation

· Stages of labour and active birth skills

· Post partum care to optimise recovery and healing

· General advice for return to exercise and normal lifestyle

There is also an opportunity to submit any topics which you would like covered prior and this is encouraged!

Contact us on (03) 8657 0605 or info@physiohealthandperformance.com.au for further details or to book.
